Redlands Modern Country Music Club

Bio:  Wild Oats commenced playing together back in 2008 and is comprised of four members of the Redlands Modern Country Music Club. We enjoy playing a pretty eclectic range of music from 'middle of the road' Bluegrass to the mountain-style playing of the Appalachians and the deep south riverboat sound. We like to play tunes and songs that capture the fusion of early Irish and German Folk Music from the mountain regions with the Nashville sound that emerged with the development of radio in the 1920's. We love the inherent vocal harmonies in both Gospel and Country music and try to blend these sounds into an entertaining presentation.

Band Members:

Peter Cathcart (guitar, mandolin, harmonica)
Greg O'Grady (guitar, banjo, harmonica)
Ron Linning (guitar, bass)

Influences:  Influences include American Bluegrass, Irish Folk, Australian Bush and Traditional Country. Artists and Songwriter influences are Iris Dement, The Cox Family, Alison Krauss & the Union Station, Steve Earle, John Prine, Ricky Skaggs and many more.

Sounds Like:  We sound like us! Do not consciously copy any particular style/sound. Like to present a broad and varying range of country music.
